This is an old post moved from our old blog …….. many things would have changed and are now out of date.

For the past weeks I have been doing several things – many of those I haven’t been able to do very well. But that’s still okay.

In the past, such failure or lack of progress will only serve to infuriate me further and it was common for me to throw tantrums, throw the baby out with the bath tub and make a huge fuss about it. I took failure of any kind quite badly …….. until very recently.

There is really no point in behaving in such ways when things don’t go your way. Recently, I have been reminded again that some people will always disappoint you. Yes, even those that you consider as friends, or those closest to you ….. That is still okay and that is to be expected.

So what have I been doing on the home business front ?

I have been playing with several websites and learning as much as I can about ways of being an online home business owner. A large part of that is in identifying niches which my websites hopes to target and documenting everything that I have done or will be doing. I identified much earlier on, that I want my websites to be content rich. But in order to do that – you really have to balance it against your other business needs.

I can tell you frankly that you can easily get discouraged in this game especially if you don’t get any results. That is normal. Manage your expectations, remember the reasons why you are doing it, maintain a positive attitude and keep working away. Success in any field takes time and commitment. And remember to give yourself every chance to succeed.

The best thing you can do is to go at your own pace and master the basic principles of marketing. There are tons of stuff online, most of which is crap, but you will get some good materials if you put in some work.

For me, my progress is tracking well, not exceptional, but still tracking slowly towards my goals. I’m using the time now to build my systems, my skills, which will provide the solid foundation to drive my business initiatives later.

One of the things I do now to make better use of time, is that I get a video going and I listen to it while I work on something else. It’s not easy especially since I am not a woman, but you will soon get used to it. I find that I can absorb a lot more information that way.
